虽然现在还很难预测5月19日开始的第19届国际当代家具展(ICFF)会有什么重大新闻或者主要流行趋势出现，至少我们可以抢先看一下今年展览的一个关注点——Metropolis的展台。展台由Urban A&O设计，可回收塑料外壳上长出的绿草和鲜花远看就像一幅活的地毯。

       展台设计负责人Joe MacDonald说“对于展台，我们希望创造一个结合了现代植物墙和绿色屋顶的东西”。在展台里面是一个再回收粗斜纹棉布铺垫的凹进去的长椅。内部墙上将会展是今年Next Generation设计比赛的决赛选手，这个比赛和今年的Metropolis研讨会一样都是以能源问题为关注核心。

除了那些花草外，整个展台的其他部分几乎都是可回收的。

除了展台，Metropolis还会在ICFF期间组织研讨会。会议将持续一天，对所有ICFF参加者开放，免费，不容错过！

今年的Metropolis研讨会关注的仍是目前大热话题——能源。设计师、制造商和开发者将聚在一起讨论目前全球的生产过程、原料、策略。此外，今年Metropolis杂志Next Generation®设计竞赛获奖者也将参加。

Project architect Ralph Walker and his team at Gensler discuss the recent completion of the St. Phillips Academy in Newark— a reuse of a 1920s factory building—and the process of making it LEED Silver 2.1.
