        International Photography Awards（IPA）年度最佳摄影师2007年10月15日在纽约林肯林肯艺术中心公布。IPA国际摄影奖举办两次比赛，分为专业摄影师和非专业摄影师两个部分，由国际出版商协会组办。

        Desc: My project was to photograph about three hundred portraits of Native men and woman in a style that is contemporary, straight forward,
        and vital. Whenever I med them, passing on the street , at a supermarket, or a dancing event in the reservation, I photographed them immediately - to capture that moment just after the eyes met, that moment of truth while recognition and acknowledgment of a shared humanity is still in our eyes before the guardedness of difference darkens it. Through the face of the North American Indian I am looking for a reflection of the entire human condition. Over a period of one year I have visited over 75 different Tribes in the USA and Canada. No matter how desperate the personal and communal conditions of the North American Indian people and their culture, the act of surviving was transformed into a heroic one. The photographs have been taken with a middle format camera on film. The white back drop was carried with me throughout the trip.

        我的课题是要拍摄当地大约三百个同龄人的肖像照。当我见到他们时，他们有的正在过马路，有的站在超级市场旁，或正在跳舞。我立刻把他们拍了下来，捕捉到了那眼神交汇的瞬间以及………………的瞬间。通过这些北美印第安人们的脸，我寻找到了反映整个人类社会的情形。在这一年的时间里，我走访了美国和加南大的75个不同的部落。无论他们的文化如何衰落，他们的艺术仍然会幸存下来。这些照片就像是胶片中一部分，让我走完了我的旅程。
